EU for Innovation aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and to boost start up creation in Albania

Some of you might already have heard, others might be completely unaware: ACE goes international. As a part of a sustainable collaboration with the EU for Innovation project, ACE has been invited to help lift the entrepreneurial spirit of Albanian universities and to boost start up creation in Albania.

As part of the mission to strengthen the innovation ecosystem of Albania, Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE), in cooperation with the EU for Innovation project is running a series of masterclasses on how to become an “Entrepreneurial University”. The program kicked off on January 21st, 2020 and will be completed in June 2020.

The series of three masterclasses is targeted at Albanian researchers, academics and management level officials in universities and aims to inform and inspire them to create programmes that encourage an entrepreneurial mindset for their students and researchers and connect these programmes to the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The content of the masterclasses is based on three levels of entrepreneurial learning: Explore & Inspire; Pursue & Educate; and Launch & Grow, developed by ACE. The first masterclas was conducted in Tirana, Albania, but due to the Corona crisis the series continues online. As a round-up event, there will be a final pitch event, during which the teams will present their University Entrepreneurship action plans in front of a panel of experts. The teams that complete the masterclass program will be awarded a certificate and the right to attend a study trip to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
