Start your Sustainable Chemistry company

For the second time, ACE and HIMS are offering a SusChem entrepreneurship program.

After a successful program in 2016, ACE and UvA research group HIMS (Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences) are again organizing a program dedicated to breakthrough ideas in sustainable chemistry. Through a 12-week program and an extensive network of industry experts, mentors, corporate partners and investors, the program aides entrepreneurs in developing their ideas into successful companies.

SusPhos

One of last year’s participants was Marissa de Boer representing SusPhos. The VU spin-off hosts the first training network investigating how to utilize the precious element phosphorus in a sustainable way. The research focuses on eco-friendly production, smart use, recycling and commercial exploitation of phosphorus-based processes and materials. Participating in the program allowed them to explore ways to grow their business in collaboration with industry partners.

For whom

The program focuses on MSc or PhD students, researchers, chemistry professionals or alumni from any Dutch university with relevant experience in the field of sustainable chemistry. Selected ideas will receive mentoring and a supporting budget to start her/his own chemical company. The application deadline is November 10, 2017.
