Three ACE startups part of new deep learning program

Science Park-based companies & scientists to work together on deep learning applications.

NWO Perspectief

The NWO Perspectief initiative challenges scientists to establish close collaborations with corporate companies and societal organizations. The multidisciplinary approach has a strong focus on applicability. The board of the NWO Domain of Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) is providing 21 million euros for six large-scale research tracks within the Perspectief funding program. The companies, civil society organisations and knowledge institutes involved in the programs will supplement NWO’s funding with another 11 million euros.

Efficient Deep Learning

Within the Efficient Deep Learning program, researchers in the field will work on developing more efficient and transparent deep learning applications, alongside corporate partners and scientific institutes. Participants in the program include three startups from the ACE portfolio: Scyfer (acquired by Qualcomm), 3DUniversum and Aiir Innovations. The program sets out to work on multiple new techniques applicable for daily use, such as automated visual inspection, smart maintenance, and intelligent medical aides.
